Can I restart classes at another college if I owe money to a different college?

A few years ago I had to with draw from online college for personal reasons. Now I want to go back, and I would like to attend my old college but they won't accept me until I pay back the money I owe them. Will it be possible for me to find a different college to attend or am I stuck until I pay back that debt?

Well if the new college needs the old colleges transcript, as they often do, you won't be able to get that transcript released to you until the money is paid. I would say speak to the new colleges registrar and see if they would allow you to take classes using an unofficial transcript until you could get an official, which in Texas is only a semester, then they need the official.

Would I just be able to start over fresh? It wouldn't be bad for me as I didn't have very many credits at all.

What is it you owe? If you have a student loan then no, you don't have to pay that off to be able to start at a new school. You only have to pay what is directly owed to the college itself- most colleges already have your tuition paid since you've either gotten a loan to pay them (so you owe the loan company, not the college), paid it yourself or made payments. If you owe anything like patil king tickets or some fee that you were able to start classes without paying, that will need to be paid before they'll give you your transcripts. But even if it's only a couple of credits, you might want them since that's one class you won't have to pay for or take again.

You probably could. But you wouldn't be eligible for any financial aid.
